Bamboo trees

Historically, industrial processing of bamboo trees was mainly focused on bulk processing such as paper and pulp production and a limited range of medium value processed products such as chopsticks and fans. In line with technological improvements, a wider range of products can now be produced including flooring, veneer and textiles. Industrial processing can be divided into three categories based on the value of the processing and grade of material used:

1. Premium processing, for example flooring and laminated furniture 
2. Medium value processing, for example chopsticks and mat boards
3. Low value and bulk processing, for example charcoal and pulp and paper
